Advanced strategy #10(Trend Line Trading Strategy) - ENJOY !

Good to hear you got back safely!

Well mate with the amount of money you're making from this racket, you could go anywhere! I can highly recommend Rarotonga and specifically the islands just north of it (1 hr flight, small plane) called Ai Tu Taki. Just paradise on Earth. Google it and take a look. I was there a few years ago - great big lagoon surrounded by deserted islands that you can catch a boat out to, have a bbq, crash out, go swimming in the turquoise sea. Just fantastic.

Anyway, back to reality. Could be a funny old week this one with Easter upon us. So that means careful trades for me.

Just waiting to see if this break holds on Aus Cad - Hey, how do I attach an image to this? Anyway, I'm looking at AUSCAD on the 15m chart.

Il Brigante - I understand what you're saying about borrowing to fund some fx, but in reality banks and other financial institutions wouldn't be too keen as there's no collateral. You could take $5k out of your property equity or something like that to get started with which is far better than taking some out for depreciating assets like a new car for example - I know people who have done that.

First of all, Thanks to Myronn wherever he is! And thanks to Edward Revy and his a wonderful team that helped create this site!
Thanks to you all for your great success stories. That is my dream to not be attached to one place in this world. To work wherever I am in this planet. The reason for me doing forex is not just the money, but it is the freedom to live my life freely and don’t have to be in my state which is my second home and work for someone no matter how much they pay!
I really didn’t find Myronn’s forum by coincidence, but I found it because I was trading for almost three years, reading all kind of books, spending hours and hours everyday practicing different strategies and different indicators, reading the candles, and using multiple moving averages. then got to support and resistance which was making sense to me. I went through all that and suddenly, I noticed the the trend lines "diagonally"and the candles are touching the highs and the lows and bouncing back. then I did research on trend lines in google and wonderfully I found Myroon’s forum” trend line trading strategy” just what I was looking for. I kept reading page by page with joy. It all happened at the end of 2010 which took me 2 years to realize what works for me. I felt very comfortable with it. I was drawing the trend lines, but wasn’t drawing them well. Then I got to this forum, and at that time Simpleforex was very helpful and very generous. I learned a lot from him. I use to draw trend lines, but I didn’t see the same pictures as his” chart”. Simpleforex use to shrink the chart so he can draw a visible long trend line and I was always amazed by his work. I do give him all the credit” cheers”

By the way, I had a good and bad experience in forex, I opened live account after one year of my training, and I thought I was ready LoL, I opened the account with two thousand dollars, and I made a profit everyday for 4 days, and my account was 3165 by the 5th day, but I didn’t quit. I was thrilled and sooo happy, and that Friday was the first Friday of the month, which I forgot about unemployment data. I got soooo greedy and I used a lots of leverage thinking I can double and triple my account, that Friday went against me when the news came up, and I kept going the same direction against the trend, and I kept getting a margin call. It is soo funny how my emotions changed, and I couldn’t control myself and kept buying again and again and then just turned off my computer and ignored the trade hopping Monday will open in my direction and I get my money back. There is no HOPE in forex, there is only a strategy to apply and with discipline. So I became just like a gambler. Then later on within few weeks, I just closed my account with lost and had a great experience. I am happy that I had that experience while I was still at the beginning of my training. I never gave up, and I always have the dream to reach my goal. I learned from myroon’s trend line strategy, simpleforex and the books that patience and discipline are the key to successful forex.

I feel I am ready to open live account within a month or so, and soon I will be participating with you guys here.

Sorry for my long story J, and I hope new traders learn from my experience and never give up their dream.

Hi Adam,

Don't worry about the long story - we've all got them and lost at forex. As you're finding out, we all have to learn, study, try to get disciplined and apply what we know. Never give up on that dream! Take it in small steps with those realistic goals first, goal 1, goal 2 etc. And move along them until you're getting somewhere!

Ultimate dream? I'm not sure of mine yet - able to holiday anytime, anywhere, live where I want, a Lexus, Aston Martin and Ducati in the garage! lol!

Well at least I'm living where I want to now so that's a good start (although I have a Honda Jazz and a Honda 125cc !). I think patience is a major thing to learn. The setups will come, it's a matter of discipline in hanging on and waiting until they properly show before pulling the trigger.

Here's one of my very favourite sayings that I look at regularly to remind me that I have to give things a go and never give up:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain.

Managed to get 2.3% on the AUSCAD before it just plunged. Happy with that for today!
