My risk simulation shows me that buying gold and selling EURUSD with leverage 3-4 is lunatic risk level. Leverage can max be 0.75.

Return per year will never be above 100% wih Buy and hold, that is unsustainable leverage.

Code: Select all
  ======== Buy and Hold with 33% stoploss ========
           Trades per year: 2
             Profit factor: 4.0 (pure guesswork)

  ================== Monte Carlo =================
     Prob. profit per year: 26..52%
              Max drawdown: 24..48%

  ========== Sustainable risk per trade ==========
                  Risk: 12,00..24,00%
              Leverage: 0,36..0,73

Things will be a bit hard next year. Walking to the job is healthy however. How to cook at home is good to know.
